Working with the existing complex

Facility upgrades require careful coordination around existing conditions, operating requirements, access, phasing and the people affected by the work.

  1. Understand existing conditions

    Review the building, operating requirements, stakeholders and intended change.

  2. Define scope and constraints

    Establish constructability, responsibilities, permitting needs, budget direction and unresolved decisions.

  3. Plan access, phasing and shutdowns

    Account for occupants, equipment, secure areas, site access, safety and required shutdown windows.

  4. Coordinate construction and turnover

    Align consultants, vendors, trades, schedule, quality, documentation and handover.
