Journeyman Automotive Mechanic / Shop & Yard Attendant

The Journeyman Automotive Mechanic / Shop & Yard Attendant is responsible and accountable for TCA Developments’ fleet of vehicles and ensuring the TCA Development Shop and Yard are well maintained. Duties include preparing a preventative maintenance schedule, conducting oil changes, and performing shop maintenance, all while maintaining a work area cleanly and efficiently. As a TCA Developments Journeyman Automotive Mechanic / Shop & Yard Attendant, you will follow the health and safety policies and regulations set in our health and safety management system. Responsibilities:

• Operate and test equipment to ensure it passes TCA Development quality and standards.
• Develop and maintain a consistent schedule of performing preventative maintenance of all TCA Developments owned fleet.
• Perform routine shop maintenance and repairs on all TCA Development fleet equipment and trucks independently.
• Diagnose internal combustion engines, electrical systems, propane systems, hydraulics, and fuel systems.
• Perform major repairs to maintain fleet equipment using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments
• Conduct oil changes, lubrication of equipment, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements, and assorted services.
• Diagnose problem areas for any significant wear or tear on the equipment.
• Maintain work area in a clean and organized manner.
• Produce reports as needed for our health and safety system.
• Promote and lead a heat and safety culture to ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed.
• Responsible for the maintenance and location of all tools signed out and in with the TCA Developments Tool Crib. Creating a tracking system to ensure all tools are not misplaced.
• Ensure the Yard and Shop are organized and maintained.

Qualifications:

- Will possess strong mechanic skills and be able to troubleshoot and correct mechanic problems.

- Red Seal Journeyman Automotive Mechanic.

- Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented.

- Self-motivated.

- Ability to work well with others.

- Ability to perform mechanical work to a very high standard.

- Valid Driver’s License with clean abstract.

- Keep accurate records of all machinery. A work order must be filled out for each machine in the shop, for both repairs and maintenance.

- Automotive technician (4 years required).
